Q. What is insert molding?
A. Insert molding is the process of molding plastic
around preformed metal or plastic inserts. Insert
molding keycaps is a two stage process. In the first
stage, the legend or graphic is molded in plastic. This
plastic insert, referred to as the first shot, is then placed
into a second mold. Plastic is then injected around
the first shot forming the keycap shape but leaving
the legend exposed. The second shot process
also forms the keycap's mounting detail.

Q. Is there a minimum order quantity?

most important when ordering sculptured keycap families.

Q. Do you have a tool that will help me remove
keycaps from my keyboard?
A. Yes. We manufacture keycap pullers like the one
pictured below. Please call for price and availability.

Q. Do you make relegendable keys?
A. Yes. Relegendable keycaps are a two piece keycap
consisting of a clear removable overcap and a
base (see image below). This is a low cost option
for user defined legends or graphics, and is available
in SA, DSA, DCS and LP families.

Q. What do you mean by "legend location"?
A. Legend location identifies the exact placement of a
legend on the touch surface of a keycap. It is defined
as the distance in inches above or below or left or
right of the horizontal and vertical center line of the
touch area of a keycap. In the graphic below, the
"Tab" legend is located .075" up from center and .180" left of center.

Q. Can we combine keys to maximize volume pricing?
A. Most of the time keys of the same family, size
and row can be combined to maximize volume
discounts. Please contact Customer Service to review your specific requirement.
Q. Do you keep keys in stock?
A. Yes, we stock a variety of blank (no legends) keys.
However, because of the thousands of options in
legend descriptions, color combinations and keycap
sizes, it is not practical to stock keys with legends.
